Forever Young - The Authorized Biography of Loretta YoungMany people remember Loretta Young, the talented and beautiful actress who made more than 100 movies before launching an amazingly successful career in television. What most people don't know is the real Loretta Young story---intense devotion to her Catholic faith, and in the years just before her death, a passion for helping those in need. Truly, she was an "earth angel." FOREVER YOUNG seems to be especially welcomed by older people, those who remember and loved Loretta. It was also printed in type slightly larger than average, in order to be easier to read. Along with 50 photographs from Loretta's private collection and a beautiful cover, it's a nice gift. |

Best of The Loretta Young Show: Seasons 3 & 4 (3 Discs)Product Description: As aired on NBC on Sunday nights from 1953 to 1961, The Loretta Young Show constituted a 30-minute dramatic anthology series, perhaps most famous for its widely referenced introductions, that found Miss Young sweeping through her living room doorway wearing the latest in fashionable attire. Also unique were the program's outros, that found Loretta quoting poetry or Bible passages to underscore the message of the drama featured that evening. Most of the dramas were indeed very message-heavy, designed to concurrently teach and entertain the audience and to show the uplift of the human spirit. Though Miss Young at one point insisted that the intros and outros be deleted in syndication, this collection brings back 31 of the original, best-loved episodes in their entirety, with her historic introductions and closings intact. The episodes in this particular collection originally aired in Season Three (1956-57) and Season Four (1957-58). |
